Hey Metroholicas!
Like every year, Met Gala became the extravagant event of this year too, the event was held on 6th May 2019.
Met Gala is a fundraising event, it gathers the fund for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York. It marks as the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition. Each year the institute sets a theme for its guests and this year the theme was “Camp: Notes to fashion“.
Metroholica always thought that camp relates to the colour Green but the 2019 Met Gala changed my way thought process because all the celebrities were seen adorning the color pink, the decoration and background was also set with the color pink. Pink was the color of the night as many celebrities like Lady Gaga, Kacey Musgraves, Janelle Monae.
Pink is surely the color of this year as it was also filled on many ramp shows. Is pink the new black?
Each year we witness the most dramatic outfits in this event but this year the scale went too high. All the celebrities went out of the box and we got see the the most dramatic outfits ever seen.
We are not sure whether they stick to the theme or the guests created a theme for their own in their minds.
Katy Perry was seen enlighting the event not just by her presence but her costume too, chandelier, yeah we do need lights in the camp and yes, we surely need a burger at the camp, she proved this with her another costume where she chose to become a Burger and we could say is yummm.
When it comes to experimenting, our Bollywood divas never stay behind.
While the whole social media is trolling Priyanka Chopra mercilessly, metroholica thinks she lived up to the mark with the theme and only she could pull such bold and thrilling look with much ease and confidence, she wore a sheer gown with feather detailing at the hem and cape by the international designer Dior, she opted for the afro curls hairstyle to give more definition to her look but lets just not forget her better half Nick Jonas who complimented the beauty in his royal style and he also wore the designer Dior.
This year Deepika Padukone also went overboard with her look, she opted for a structural princess gown by Zac Posen with a surprising technological twist: It was covered in hundreds of 3D-printed embellishments, her makeup was completed with glitters and shine just like her presence which always creates the magical aura. She completed her look with high ponytail.
Metroholica found both the beauties ecstatic, bold and vivacious, they never fail to surprise us with their exceptional looks.
The institutes head Andrew Bolton said in an interview that “the purpose of camp is to put a smile on our faces and a warm glow in our hearts.”
Now, Metroholica wants to know whose look won your heart more, just pour in your comments and let us know that who got successful in putting a smile on your face and just Be Fashionable…!!!
