Indian- Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani


  1. black cardamom 2
  2. oil or (ghee) 2tbsp
  3. onion fried 2 (large)
  4. chicken medium pieces 800grams
  5. cloves and green cardamoms each 2
  6. cumin and coriander pdr 1/2tsp
  7. each of chopped ginger and garlic 2tbsp
  8. chopped coriander leaves 2tbsp
  9. cinnamon 2stick
  10. yoghurt 2cup
  11. salt according to taste
  12. turmeric according to taste
  13. flavored rice(basmati) 2cup
  14. green chilli 2
  15. javeri mace 1 tbsp
  16. lime juice 1tbsp
  17. medium sized onions sliced 4
  18. pepper corns 6piece
  19. saffron color 1/2tsp


In a bowl take

  1. chicken
  2. gingergarlic paste
  3. mint
  4. curd
  5. green chillies
  6. coriander leaves
  7. pepper corns
  8. cumin
  9. chilli powder
  10. turmuric
  11. salt
  12. cumin
  13. coriander powder
  14. whole garamasala dry
  15. fried onion and add oil, mix all very nicely.

In a bowl add water,salt and bring to boil to cook rice, once the rice is half cooked drain the wate.

Now in a biryani bowl add marinated chicken spread at the bottom and then add half cooked rice, mint leaves, onion fried, saffron color and close it with the lid and cook for 30min.
