Today, we wish the global icon of our country, Bollywood’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a very delightful Happy Birthday.
Priyanka Chopra was born on 18th july, 1982 in Jamshedpur, India. Her parents were physicians in the Indian Army. Later, she moved to United States at the age of 13 for studies, she used to live there with her aunt. Priyanka Chopra used to get bullied a lot by the African-American natives in New York for her skin color and also for being Indian but it never made her lose her confidence.
She won the Miss World title in the year 2000, which made her bag a lot of modelling assignments and movies in Bollywood. She debuted in the Bollywood movie in 2003, the movie names “Hero- the love story of a spy”, along with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. After that she played a negative character in the movie “Andaazz” opposite Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta. She received a lot of recognition with this movie and she got successful in bagging few more films.
Priyanka has named a lot of successful Bollywood movies in her kitty like “Aitraaz” where she portrayed a negative character too early in her career but she was praised a lot for her acting skills. She also won the Filmfare Award for the best performance in a negative role for the same. From “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”, “Waqt”, “Bluffmaster”, “Krishh”, ” Don”, “Dostana”, “Fashion” to “Barfi”, “Mary Kom” and “Bajirao-Mastani”, Priyanka Chopra has come a long way with a fortunate career in Bollywood.
Priyanka Chopra has been awarded several times for her talent, she has won 15 Filmfare Awards, 8 Screen Awards, 8 Producer’s Guild Awards, 6 IIFA Awards, 2 People’s Choice Awards and also 1 most prestigious award the National Film Award. She has also grabbed few International awards too. In a total, she has won 126 awards.
After getting much love, fame, and rewards in Bollywood, she tried her hands or say the voice in singing and in July 2012, she became the first Bollywood star to get signed by creative artists agency based in Los Angeles, where she collaborated with Sam Watters, Matthew Koma, and Jay Sean. She released her first solo song, “In My City”, in the US in the year 2012. She released her 2nd single in July 2013 which featured the famous American Rapper, “Pitbull”. She has also sung in Bollywood movies like “Karam”, the song was “Tinka-Tinka” which became a hit and a lullaby in Mary Kom named “Chaoro” and title track of “Dil Dhakadne Do”.
With the much-proclaimed career in singing Internationally, she got able to get a role in the American series “Quantico”, she received a lot of praise for her acting by American critics, after that she bagged the role in the popular series which was made in a movie “Baywatch” opposite Dwayne Jhonson and Zac Efron. She also played roles in the American movies “A kid like Jake” & “Isn’t it Romantic”.
Priyanka Chopra also proves that she a true Philanthropist as she supports various causes through her foundation named, “The Priyanka Chopra Foundation for health and education”. She also works with UNICEF, she started working with them in the year 2006. In the year 2010, she was appointed as the National UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights.
After falling in love with Nick Jonas who is an American actor, singer, and songwriter, she married him in December 2018 in India. The two look crazily in love and are often seen showing PDA everywhere they go.
